The premier
set in The APBA Journal's First Edition series is the Negro League All
Stars set. This set features statistics researched by APBA expert
and Negro League historian David Lawrence. David's research
includes the very latest data available about these players.
This card
set includes 20 cards each for 16 Negro League franchises. Every
Negro Leaguer who made the Hall of Fame as a player, including those in
the Class of 2006, has a card in this set. The First Edition card
set includes 320 individually cut cards with rounded corners; a set of 16
pre-printed envelopes; a six-page booklet with rosters, suggested
lineups, and details of the
statistical history of the cards and capsule commentaries on the teams;
and an individually-numbered certificate of authenticity.
The Negro
League All Stars First Edition set is limited to 100 sets and eight
proofs. The APBA Journal will keep sets one through five in its
archive. David Lawrence will receive card set six. All other
sets will sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with sets numbered in
the order that they are sold.
